The inaugural Melbourne Touch 6s, organized by the Sri Lanka Touch Footy Club Melbourne, kicked off on September 16th, 2023, with a bang! Not only did Sri Lankan touch clubs showcase their talents, but a new legend was born on the field.
Shalindra Samarajiwa, a gifted player from St. Thomas College, etched his name into the history books by scoring the very first try (goal) of the entire Melbourne Touch 6s tournament. This momentous feat exemplifies the dedication and skill honed by Sri Lankan touch footballers.
