Neha Liyanage: Balancing Academics, Athletics, and Leadership

From a tender age, Neha found herself drawn to the world of athletics. Introduced to the track by her father at the age of seven, she quickly developed a love for running, jumping, and the thrill of competition. With her father’s guidance and the inspiration of role models like Australian long jumper Brooke Stratton, Neha pursued her athletic endeavors with zeal, eventually achieving remarkable milestones in events like triple jump and long jump. Her achievements, including breaking AGSV records after 45 years, underscore her dedication and talent in the realm of athletics.

But Neha’s story doesn’t stop at the track. She is a multifaceted individual who thrives on diversity. Alongside her athletic pursuits, Neha is a shining example of academic excellence. Currently in Grade 12 at Yarra Valley Grammar, she seamlessly juggles her studies with her passion for sports. One aspect of Neha’s journey that stands out is her involvement in touch football, particularly her role as a member of the Melbourne Storm team.
